Travel control maintained between HCM City and southern region after social distancing relaxed
(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on Tuesday agreed with localities that a mechanism remains in place to control people entering and leaving Ho Chi Minh City and between southern provinces and cities even after the social distancing measures are eased.

Deputy Prime Minister Dam on Tuesday worked online with leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta and Central Highlands localities to prepare for reopening after September 30.
Participants were unanimous on the need to relax social distancing in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region in the context that localities have basically controlled the pandemic to restore economic development and stabilize people's lives.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that to keep workers stay in Ho Chi Minh City to work, the city needs to create favorable working environment and provide vaccines and accommodation for workers. He added plans to pick up workers from other localities to the city must ensure safety and create the best conditions for workers to be vaccinated. In addition, the Ministry of Health needs to coordinate with localities to ensure vaccination coverage for herd immunity and soon bring a new normal life to locals, Mr. Dam said.
