The funding will go to the International Organization for Migration, the UN Development Program and UNICEF to meet immediate life-saving needs in the most affected provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai. The response will focus on emergency shelter and water, sanitation, and hygiene assistance.

A Russian flight delivered 35 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Vietnam on Friday to support recovery efforts in the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi. At the handover ceremony at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Chargé d'Affaires of Russia in Vietnam I.S. Nesterov emphasized the longstanding tradition of mutual support between Russia and Vietnam.

The same day, the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam announced that Canada has provided 560,000 CAD (more than 412,000 USD) in humanitarian assistance to the Vietnamese people affected by floods and landslides caused by Typhoon Yagi.

Canadian Ambassador Shawn Steil emphasized that this funding includes support for both domestic and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as well as the Red Cross, to address the most urgent needs.
