UN report: global economy will grow below 3.6 % in 2012

A UN report has forecast that the global economy would grow lower than 3.6 percent in 2012 warning that the debt crisis in euro zone will continue to slow down the recovery of the world economy. The World Economic Situation and Prospects 2012 report, which was released on Thursday, says that the world is at risk of a new recession next year. On the same day, the International Monetary Fund decided to lower its forecast of the world economy prospects due to stagnant recovery of the world economy and worsening debt crisis in Europe. IMF’s World Economic Outlook report is expected to be announced early next year.
