(VOVworld) – Nearly 3.3 million USD has been collected from organizations, agencies and individuals in support for the flood victims in central Vietnam, reports the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

Speaking at Thursday’s meeting in Hanoi, Deputy Chairman and General Secretary of the Front Vu Trong Kim said that most of the money had been disbursed to the targeted localities. Mr. Kim said: "We propose that relevant ministries and agencies provide the money directly to the people in need instead of buying goods and other items for them. By doing so, the money will be used more efficiently, especially for rebuilding houses. It’s necessary to keep an eye on measures to prevent post-flood epidemics."
