(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Pham Quang Vinh presented credentials to the US Department of State at a ceremony in Washington DC on Friday. Ambassador Vinh stated the key task in coming years is to deepen the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US, noting significant progress in elevating the partnership over the past years.

The Ambassador emphasized that the two countries would mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year with a wide range of activities. He promised to exert efforts to enhance cooperation between the US and ASEAN. Deputy Secretary of State Heather Higginbottom spoke highly of fine development of bilateral relations between the two countries in recent times and stated that the US wanted to further the comprehensive partnership with Vietnam. Higginbottom urged the two countries to strengthen activities to mark the 20^th anniversary of bilateral ties.
