Various activities underway to celebrate southern region’s Liberation Day

(VOVworld) – Various activities have been organized to mark the 39th anniversary of southern Vietnam’s Liberation Day on April 30th. Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee on Tuesday launched a historical book featuring its activities from 1930 to 1975.

Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, addressed the event: “this book is not only about history but also the sacrifice of those who died for national freedom. The book will help us, especially the younger generation, better understand our revolutionary achievements and improve the pride and education of Party members and the Vietnamese people as a whole.
Also that day, a delegation of the municipal leaders led by Le Thanh Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, burned incense and laid a floral wreath at the city’s Martyrs’ cemetery and in Lac Canh cemetery.
Meanwhile, on Monday, a delegation led by Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice Secretary of the city’s Party Committee, performed the same ceremony at Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple in Cu Chi district.
