(VOVworld) - Relations between Vietnam and the Vatican Holy See are progressing positively, evidenced by visits by the Party, State, and VFF leaders and their meetings with the Pope.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Nguyen Thien Nhan made the remark at a reception in Hanoi on Monday for Cardinal Reinhard Marx, Chairman of the German Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

President Nhan expressed his hope that after this visit that Cardinal Marx will help further promote ties between Vietnam and Germany, and between Vietnam and the Vatican.
Cardinal Marx said he hopes the VFF, will continue working for the development of Catholicism in Vietnam, and facilitating humanitarian activities among the Catholic community.
