The conference on promoting cooperation opportunities in the agricultural sector was attended by trade and agriculture counselors from countries with developed agriculture. Agriculture is a pillar of Vietnam’s economy, contributing about 12% of total GDP. More than 60% of Vietnam’s population resides in rural areas.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan says a developing country, Vietnam needs technical consultation support from experienced partners to develop green, sustainable agriculture and actively participate in the global food system.

"Vietnam seeks to enhance its agriculture economy, trade, and investment, and pursue future cooperation,” said Minister Hoan.

There are many opportunities for collaboration with other countries, but realizing them requires active participation by international partners, he added.
