(VOVWORLD) - More than 1,000 people in Da Nang city have joined together to clean up the streets and clear ditches in response to the Action Month for the Environment and Vietnam Sea and Island Week 2024 organized by the Da Nang People's Committee.

Da Nang city will organize 63 activities until the end of August, aiming to attract a large number of participants to clean roads and beaches to serve the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival and dredge sewers and ditches to reduce flooding in the rainy season.
At the launching ceremony, the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Thanh Khe District People's Committee handed over equipment to residential areas and schools to implement the model "Recycling food waste into compost".
Participants also joined a painting contest on environmental protection and reducing ocean plastic waste.
