During talks in Hanoi on Tuesday, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his Armenian counterpart Alen Simonyan emphasized the need to advance the implementation of the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement to create significant breakthroughs in bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Chairman Man suggested that both sides continue effective coordination at regional forums, and support Vietnam and ASEAN’s stance on the East Sea. He underscored the importance of resolving disputes peacefully on the basis of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), particularly regarding issues related to peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Both leaders called on the Vietnamese and Armenian governments to sign cooperation agreements to establish a legal framework for agencies, organizations, citizens, and businesses of the two countries to increase exchanges, explore markets, and cooperate in trade, investment, mutual recognition of product quality certifications, and avoidance of double taxation.
They also discussed granting scholarships to students from both countries, organizing regular cultural exchange activities, and examining favorable visa policies.
