(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue had a working session with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Employment and Economy Kris Peeters on Tuesday as part of a visit to the European Union.

Hue also met with Senate President Christine Defraigne, Governor of Flanders Geert Bourgeois, and European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries, and Environment Karmenu Vella.
The leaders agreed to promptly set up plans on trade, investment, and culture promotion in each country and maintain high-level meetings and exchanges, while continuing to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums. They also agreed to take more active measures to boost exports and call for investment in maritime transportation, logistics, green technologies, agriculture, renewable energy, and health care.

Vietnamese and Belgian leaders pledged to cooperate closely to promote the signing and ratifying of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to strengthen economic links between EU members and Vietnam.
Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue left Belgium Tuesday for Bratislava to start a working visit to Slovakia.
