Vietnam contributes ideas to the UN General Assembly

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Vinh urged the UN to boost the compliance and promotion of international law and the UN charter in face of complex developments in the world.

Vinh was speaking at the plenary session of the 67th UN General Assembly which concluded in New York, the US on Monday. He appreciated the 30th signing anniversary of the Law of Convention on the Sea as an opportunity for the international community to reaffirm their commitment to the Convention.
The Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister said the UN should continue effort to solve development-related issues which are the root of many conflicts and disputes. Vinh asked the UN to further support its member countries to implement the Millennium Development Goals.
