Vietnam Energy Partnership Group launched

(VOVWORLD) -The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the EU Delegation in Vietnam have launched Vietnam Energy Partnership Group in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Both agreed to promote bilateral cooperation for energy development in Vietnam through investment in sustainable energy and modern energy service access. Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh was speaking in the launching ceremony: “Vietnam and its partners will concretize cooperation in 5 key areas. These include the development renewable energy, energy restructuring towards market economy, power access and energy saving. These are fundamental grounds for our sustainable energy strategy, energy security and better quality growth.”

 As a side event at the launch of the Vietnam Energy Partnership Group, a joint declaration on reinforced cooperation in the field of sustainable energy was signed by Vietnam and the European Union. The joint declaration aims at reaffirming the EU’s strong support for Vietnam in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: “Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all” and “Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts”.
