(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam had no new COVID-19 cases to report on Wednesday morning, keeping the national tally at 1,141, according to the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Vietnam has gone 49 days with no new transmission. 1046 of 1,141 cases have fully recovered. 16 of the remaining COVID-19 patients have tested negative for the virus at least once.
According to the worldometers.info, 41 million people have been infected and 1.12 million have died. The US has been the hardest-hit by the pandemic, followed by India and Brazil.
More than 10 million cases have been recorded in Latin America and the Caribbean. The country with the highest number of deaths per capita is Peru, with 103 fatalities per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Belgium with 90. Ukraine and Turkey have reported the most COVID-19 deaths in one day. Iran’s 337 COVID-19 deaths is a record high for a single day in the Middle East.
