Vietnam hosts its first ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting
(VOVworld) - The 12
th ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting will open in Hanoi next Monday to promote community health after 2015. Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said delegates will review major regional issues while strengthening cooperation with China, South Korea and Japan to improve healthcare for the public:
“ASEAN countries, especially Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore, have valuable experience in all people insurance coverage policy. We wish to learn from them and dialogue countries, especially Japan, as all their population has been covered by health insurance.”

During the 4-day conference, Vietnam will share its experience in Millennium Development Goals, especially the reduction of fatality rate among children under five and mothers.
