Vietnam, Myanmar enhance cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has urged Vietnam and Myanmar to establish the National Defense Policy Dialogue at the deputy-ministerial level and boost cooperation in agriculture, transport, and justice.

At a meeting with Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of the Union of Myanmar Aye Thar Aung , Ms Ngan said Vietnam is ready to share its development experience with the country. She urged them to facilitate Vietnamese enterprises to invest in banking and telecommunications in Myanmar. She also praised bilateral cooperation at international forums, particularly at ASEAN and the UN adding that the two sides should work closely within the framework of ASEAN and both regional and global forums and cooperate in sustainable use of the Mekong river. She hoped Myanmar would soon become a member of the Mekong River Committee.
