Vietnam needs to make a strong case to the wider world: US professor
(VOVWORLD) -China’s acts in the East Sea are negatively affecting the whole region, so countries, including Vietnam, needs to show their clearer attitude toward the issue, said John Rennie Short, professor at the US University of Maryland.

The American professor said China’s violations of sovereignty of other countries in the East Sea like Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia are unacceptable. He called on Vietnam and other countries to continue to raise their voice so that the international community better understand and prevent China’s ambition in the East Sea. Speaking to the media earlier this month, Professor Short said Vietnam needs to keep promoting its position and making a strong case to the wider world, particularly “the argument that things could be controlled by the rule of law rather than Chinese unilateral actions.”
