In response to reporters' question about Vietnam's reaction to China's Ministry of Natural Resources' release of the so-called "2023 Standard Map" which also covers Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos of Vietnam, Hang said China's Ministry of Natural Resources' release of the so-called " 2023 Standard Map” which includes Vietnam's Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos and its claims based on the dash line violate Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos, as well as Vietnam's sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction over its maritime zones determined in the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). Therefore, China’s sovereignty claims and maritime claims based on the dash line as shown in the above map are nun and void and violate international law, especially the 1982 UNCLOS.
