Vietnam People's Army deploys rescue team to Myanmar

(VOVWORLD) - A rescue team of the Vietnam People's Army left for for Yangon, Myanmar at 3:30 p.m on Sunday.

Upon arrival, the delegation will coordinate with Myanmar authorities and international teams to finalize their mission strategy and response plan. The rescue operation is scheduled to begin their mission on Monday morning.

Earlier in the day, at a task assignment conference in Hanoi, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense, urged the delegation to uphold their responsibilities, demonstrate unity, overcome challenges, and successfully fulfill the mission entrusted by the Party, State, and Army.
