Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Anh Quang, Head of the Vietnamese delegation to the EU, called on the EU to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam and ASEAN. Quang said the EVFTA is a balanced document that benefits both the EU and Vietnam and creates favorable conditions for EU enterprises to access the Vietnamese market. He added that the agreement will help the EU strengthen its role and status in Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific. He said Vietnam is committed to ensuring an open and transparent business and investment environment and honoring the terms of the agreement.

Pierre Groning, Head of International Trade Policy at the International Trade Association, said Vietnam is complying with standards of labor and sustainable development in trade.

Next week, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh will head to Brussels to resolve technical problems towards signing and ratifying the agreement.
