Vietnam promotes comprehensive strategic partnership with China

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam attaches great importance to strengthening traditional friendship and promoting comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang said during talks in Hanoi on Sunday with Chinese Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe.

Minister Giang affirmed Vietnam's consistent view of resolving disagreements through peaceful means in the spirit of respect for each other's legitimate rights and interests, on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, controlling maritime disagreements without complicating the situation, using force, or threatening to use force.

Minister Wei said defense cooperation between China and Vietnam contributes to improving friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and States for the benefit of the two peoples, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in each country, as well as in the region and the world.
