Vietnam proposes further trade cooperation with China

(VOVWORLD) -Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien on Sunday proposed that Vietnam and China strengthen investment and supply chain cooperation, prioritizing digital economy and green growth cooperation which is a general trend and one of the driving forces for future development.

Minister Dien and Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao co-chaired the 13th session of the Vietnam-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee in Biejing on Sunday. The Vietnamese minister made six proposals, including ensuring a smooth supply chain, completing border gate infrastructure, accelerating  the opening of agricultural markets, and boosting the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Office in China.

Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang proposed that the two sides focus on implementing investment cooperation documents and digital economy-green development initiatives.

He called for Vietnam’s policies to support and encourage the development of power projects and industrial park cooperation, and continue to negotiate and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on further economic cooperation in production and supply chains.

Wang also proposed solutions to boost trade cooperation, including negotiating and signing agricultural trade cooperation documents, strengthen exchanges on standards, and assess the conformity of imported and exported products.
