The agreement, to take effect on January 1, would waive the centralized quarantine for people visiting for less than 14 days for investment and trade, VnExpress cited The World & Vietnam Report, the news website of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On arrival, they must furnish a certificate that they tested negative for the novel coronavirus, but will be tested again and have their health status monitored. They are only allowed to engage in activities they have registered for as approved by the host country.

Data from KORCHAM Vietnam shows that over 3,000 Korean experts and their families have been granted permission to enter Vietnam for work since March when Vietnam imposed travel restrictions.

The RoK was the second biggest investor in Vietnam in the first 10 months of the year with more than 3.4 billion USD.
