President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Huynh Dam received Pratibha Mehta, UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam on Wednesday morning.

Dam said the Party, State, and Fatherland Front of Vietnam always try its best to boost economic development and social security for people’s happiness and prosperity. He said the Fatherland Front has been mobilizing domestic and foreign supports for the poor people. Dam said he hopes the UN organizations will strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese government and Fatherland Front.

Mehta said that the UN organizations in Vietnam and the Fatherland Front will continue to strengthen cooperation, especially in poverty reduction, economic development, health and education to successfully implement its socio-economic development goals and the Millennium Development Goals.
