Vietnam, Thailand to boost military ties

(VOV)-Vietnam and Thailand have agreed to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the “National Defence Agreement of Vietnam and Thailand’s Ministries of National Defence” signed in September. During an ongoing visit by Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh to Thailand, General Thanh insisted that the two countries should cooperate bilaterally and multilaterally in the process of building an ASEAN community by 2015. He said that visit, he said, aims to evaluate the two countries’ national defense cooperation based on the traditional friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the two countries and their military forces for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
