At the working session, Minster Thanh praised national defense and military cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, especially between their navies, which has contributed greatly to developing and consolidating their friendship. He said that the two navies should work together to foster cooperation and exchange experience for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world. Thanh said: “We have agreed to foster bilateral military cooperation in the coming time. Two sides will prioritize delegation exchanges at all levels to learn from each other, exchange experience in various fields including culture, communications and cooperation in multiregional forums.”

Earlier, at the dialogue with General Sukumpol Suwanatat, Thailand’s Minister of Defense, the two sides agreed to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the “National Defence Agreement of Vietnam and Thailand’s Ministries of National Defence” signed in September. Both agreed that Thailand, as the coordinator of ASEAN-China relations, will foster the ASEAN-China relationship towards building the Code of Conduct (COC), contributing to the peace and stability of the region.
