At an online conference on disease prevention on Tuesday, he urged localities to stay on guard against imported cases and strengthen prevention measures.
“The Health Ministry has requested testing on all imported frozen food at border gates, particularly imports from COVID-19 hit countries, as coronavirus survives longer on frozen products. Prevention rules must be strictly abided by,” said Mr. Long.
Health experts said Vietnam should prepare for the worst scenario. Early detection and testing are effective in controlling the epidemic. It’s crucial to prevent infections in hospitals, they agreed.
As of Monday, Vietnam recorded 1,316 COVID-19 cases, of which 1,153 have recovered and 35 have died.
