According to the Ambassador, this first State visit of the King and Queen to Vietnam will mark a major milestone in the history of bilateral relations over the past 50 years. It not only affirms Vietnam's role as a reliable and stable partner of Belgium and strengthens bilateral cooperation in many fields, but also demonstrates the importance of Vietnam in the international arena amid the current volatile world.

The close cooperation between partners such as Belgium and Vietnam is essential to promote the role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the European Union (EU), as well as the relationship between the EU and Vietnam, he added.

In addition to members of the Government, 30 business leaders and about 12 university rectors will accompany the King and Queen of Belgium during the State visit, according to the Ambassador.

Multiple memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed between Belgian and Vietnamese universities, paving the way for academic cooperation. Many other important activities will also be carried out within the framework of the visit.
