Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of attaching importance to strengthening and expanding relations with Singapore. Mr. Trong stated this at a meeting yesterday with Khaw Boon Wan, Chairman of the People’s Action Party and Minister for National Development of Singapore during his official visit. He said the Communist Party of Vietnam wants to consolidate relations based on national interests, independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, including enhancing ties with Singapore’s People’s Action Party. Both leaders underscored that in the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership, sound cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and People's Action Party of Singapore will also be lifted to the level of strategic partnership.
