(VOVWORLD) -Today (September 2) is a special day for every Vietnamese person, it is National Day, also known as Independence Day. Jubilant celebrations are underway in all parts of the country.
Thousands of Hanoiians and tourists attended the flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 79th National Day in Ba Dinh Square Monday morning, and then visited the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to pay their respects to the great leader.
The Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh at No. 112, Mai Thuc Loan Street, Hue city, is the first place where young Nguyen Sinh Cung, who later became President Ho Chi Minh, and his family lived in Hue from 1895-1901. In the green, cool campus, the small, simple house is preserving valuable items of Ho Chi Minh’s childhood. Mr. Vu Chi Thanh, a tourist from Hai Phong, was moved when he saw pictures and memorabilia of President Ho Chi Minh. “This great historical relic of Thua Thien Hue province and the whole country showcases the love Uncle Ho had for Hue and the people of Hue for Uncle Ho,” Thanh said.
Ho Chi Minh Museum in the center of Hue city is displaying more than 18,000 images, documents, and precious artifacts about President Ho Chi Minh during the nearly 10 years he and his family lived in Hue. Here, locals and tourists are introduced to the great leader’s life and career closely associated with the nation.
Ms. Vu Thi Ngan, a tourist from Hanoi, was emotional, saying “Looking at the images and artifacts in this museum, I feel like I'm reliving history, in particular, when Uncle Ho lived here during his youth, went to school, and then left Vietnam to find a way for national salvation. I feel even more appreciative of Uncle Ho's contributions to the people and the country.”
At the most famous tourist area in Vietnam’s central region - Sun World Ba Na Hills, the Golden Bridge these days is brightly decorated with hundreds of national flags. Thousands of tourists excitedly posed for photos next to the bridge covered in red flag colors and many tourists wore shirts and hats printed with the Vietnamese national flag when visiting the iconic tourist site of Da Nang.
In Mu Cang Chai district of the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, visitors are treated to the festival called "Flying over scenic areas - golden season 2024". The flying national flag celebrating the National Day plus spectacular performance by 20 motorized paraglide pilots flying in coordination in the air, creating special aerial images and experiences.
On National Day, Vietjet Air's fleet of aircraft are decorated with the iconic image of the red flag and yellow star in the middle. Flight attendants shined and stood out in stylish outfits printed with national flag welcoming passengers and spreading the image of a beautiful and hospitable Vietnam to international friends.
