The event was attended by former and current leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, and Government, along with officials from ministries, agencies, and local organizations in and around Hanoi. International guests included diplomats and leaders of international organizations in Hanoi.

Mr. To Lam said that under the Party’s leadership over the past 79 years, the Vietnamese people united and, with strong international support, achieved victories, reunified the country, carried out reforms, and moved toward socialism.

Vietnam has become a symbol of peace, stability, hospitality, and a top destination for investors and international tourists, he said. It has transformed itself from an underdeveloped economy into one of the world's top 40 economies. Its trade volume is among the top 20 globally, and Vietnam is now part of 16 free trade agreements connecting it with 60 major economies worldwide.

Vietnam has established diplomatic ties with 193 countries and forged strategic or comprehensive partnerships with 30 nations, including every permanent member of the UN Security Council and other major global powers, and has served as an active member of more than 70 global and regional organizations.

Looking back on the past 79 years, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his gratitude for the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and other predecessors, including the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, heroic martyrs, the entire Vietnamese people, and international friends.

He emphasized the ongoing efforts to achieve the goals of the 13th National Party Congress. Vietnam has its sights set on becoming a developing, upper-middle-income country with modern industry by 2030, when it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Vietnam aspires to be a high-income, developed country by 2045, when it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Lam said.

Vietnam seeks continued support and close cooperation from global friends, partners, and all peace-loving people, including diplomats, international organizations, and foreign investors, to aid the country’s development, Mr. Lam said, adding, "We are confident that by working together, we can overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and build a peaceful, sustainable world with a fair international political and economic order based on the UN Charter and international law."

Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama reaffirmed his commitment to further developing Palestine’s multifaceted friendship and cooperation with Vietnam by fostering peaceful and mutually beneficial partnerships for a world of peace, freedom, equality, prosperity and sustainable development.
