“Vietnamese people prioritizing Vietnamese goods” campaign reviewed

(VOVworld) – Growing numbers of Vietnamese people prefer using locally made products, which has helped boost production and consumption. That was the conclusion of a meeting in Hanoi on Friday reviewing 3 years of the “Vietnamese people prioritizing Vietnamese goods” campaign. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, and Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Huynh Dam attended the meeting.

The campaign has boosted domestic production, increased both supply and demand, expanded the export market, and reduced imports.  Deputy Prime Minister Hai praised the importance of communications in creating a widespread movement.

"The campaign encourages patriotism, promotes a Vietnamese consumer culture, and boosts the production of high quality and competitive products to meet local and foreign demand. The targets are important to national integration. Enterprises are urged to become involved in the campaign. This is an opportunity for them to grow."

The campaign hopes to see 80% of the Vietnamese population using locally made products, and 90% of rural areas selling Vietnamese products.
