(VOVworld) – Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong today/ on Monday received a visiting Laos delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad. Mr. Trong expressed his delight at the special relations between Vietnam and Laos which has been flourishing.

He also spoke highly of the effort by the two Governments in organizing activities to mark the Vietnam – Laos Friendship year 2012. The party leader also highly appreciated the result of the recent meeting of Vietnam – Laos inter-governmental committee adding that the two countries need to closely supervise the implementation of  signed agreements with the main focus on progress, quality and efficiency of cooperation projects. Mr. Trong said that it is necessary to promote information exchange and work together in multilateral forums and to successfully organize the 9^th Asia-Europe Meeting and the 7^th ASEAN Sub-Regional Environment Programme to be held in Laos at the end of this year.
