(VOVworld) – Operations at the control center of the Dung Quat oil refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai remain unchanged as Tet approaches. The engineers here are all Vietnamese. Last year operations were mainly conducted by foreign experts, which shows the progress Vietnamese engineers have made in advanced petrochemical technology. Engineer Pham Van Hoang, from the northern province of Bac Giang, has been working at the Dung Quat refinery for 5 years: I’m on standby during Tet so I can’t go home. I miss my family very much, but I can still have a joyous Tet here, thanks to the managers’ care. A lot of my colleagues are staying here because their duty to the refinery is the top priority.

Dinh Van Ngoc, Director General of the Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company - the parent company of the Dung Quat refinery - said safety, discipline, and effective operation are the main goals the company’s leaders have set for 2013. All employees are committed to doing their utmost to achieve these goals.
