(VOV) – An art program to mark World Stage Day, March 27^th, opened on Wednesday in Hanoi.

In 1962, the International Association for Theater chose March 27^th as World Stage Day to highlight the role stage art plays in the development of culture and honor this kind of art in the world. People’s Artist Le Tien Tho, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, said: "In 2004, the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists participated in the International Association for Theater and has cooperated to organize many experimental stage festivals in Hanoi. Many forms of Vietnamese theater  have been sent to international competitions and won top prizes while introducing Vietnamese culture to the world".

The program this year includes special stage works, puppetry, and circus performances.
