(VOVworld) - The Ministry of Information and Communications has opened the 5th international book fair in Hanoi.
More than 20 foreign publishing houses and 100 domestic publishers joined the event. Visitors will join various fair activities, including books display, copyrights exchanges and publication cooperation.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Truong Minh Tuan, was addressing the opening ceremony: “The Vietnamese publication industry has promoted both conventional printed materials and on-line editions to meet the increasing public demand. The industry should promote Vietnamese publications abroad to connect the overseas Vietnamese community with their homeland. More valuable foreign publications will be brought to Vietnam to improve access to knowledge from different cultures.”
The fair has been held twice annually since 2013 with the aim to strengthen the joy of reading, boosting book copyright transactions and international cooperation.
