First, ACMECS needs tightened coordination to ensure consistency from strategy building to actual implementation. PM Chinh said that Vietnam will contribute 10 million USD to the ACMECS Development Fund.
Second, the Vietnamese Prime Minister stressed the need to combine tradition and modernity to ensure synchronous and harmonious development between traditional economic sectors and new and modern technology sectors.
Third, he said it’s important to ensure rapid, sustainable growth, focusing on promoting green transition, a circular economy, and a sharing economy. He urged ACMECS members to strengthen solidarity, political trust, information sharing, and consultancy on projects relating to the Mekong River's water resources.
Fourth is regional and international connectivity, creating favorable conditions for the circulation of goods and services among five nations. Fifth is to connect the governments, people and businesses. And the last is to connect development with stability and security.
The Vietnamese PM’s remarks and proposals were hailed by participants and written in the conference documents. The leaders adopted the Vientiane Declaration, and witnessed the transfer of the ACMECS chairmanship from Laos to Myanmar.
