ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 opens in Quang Ninh
(VOVWORLD) - The ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019, the most important annual event in regional tourism cooperation, opened in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh province, on Wednesday. Its theme “The Power of One” realizes the common orientation of all ASEAN nations of “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam spoke at the opening ceremony: “The ASEAN Tourism Forum is the most important forum for Vietnam’s tourism as it not only helps plan policies towards rapid and sustainable tourism development, but also highlights the efforts of Vietnam and other member states to build a prosperous ASEAN community, being a reliable and prestigious partner. The forum lays a foundation for a goal that by 2025, ASEAN will have become a quality tourist destination, offering a unique and diverse experience about an ASEAN which commits to responsible, inclusive, and balanced tourism development, and contributes significantly to the socio-economic well-being of ASEAN people.”
The annual forum focuses on six topics including positioning ASEAN as a single destination for tourists, raising the awareness of ASEAN as a competitive tourist destination in Asia-Pacific, and strengthening inner block cooperation.
