(VOVworld)- On Wednesday, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan attended the 18^th anniversary of World Social Work Day, November 12. In her address, the Vice President said ensuring social security is a focus of Vietnam’s national development strategy and a key to its achievements.

She urged the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to encourage the public to contribute to social work, expand their social networks, and fine-tune legislation to facilitate social work. The Deputy Chief Representative of UNICEF in Vietnam Jesper Moller praised Vietnam’s progress in promoting social work. He said the project on developing social work as a career in the 2010-2020 period shows the Vietnamese government’s commitments to supporting vulnerable people. He promised to work closely with Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and organizations to contribute to its development .
