The Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 takes the audience on a special journey of exploration and experience in the sound of popular songs about Hanoi, inspiring a sense of pride and love for Hanoi.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was an art performance called “Quintessence of Ao Dai,” in three parts – Golden History, Bridge of Interaction, and Inspiration Journey. The program merged traditional and modern elements in recreating the 70 years since the Liberation of the capital, using the Vietnamese ao dai as the central theme.

Designer Duc Hung said: “The winter of Hanoi is so special. In the past, our grandmothers and mothers always quilted cotton blankets to prepare for their children and grandchildren as they went off to the battlefield to protect the capital and the country. That image and culture have always stayed in my heart. And today, the quilted cotton garments, combined with the Ao Dai of Hanoi’s winter, create a sense of warmth, infused with love for the country and for Hanoi.”

After three successful events, the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival is expected to become an annual event held every October, with the aim of developing a cultural and tourism product that helps promote the image of the capital, Hanoi.

Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Vu Thu Ha, said: “The 2024 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival will provide international friends, and visitors impressive experiences of Vietnam’s culture, along with the historical journey of Hanoi over the past 70 years.”
