(VOVworld) – The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control convened in Hanoi on Saturday to discuss measures to deal with tropical storm Mujegae. Participants said the foremost task is to inform boats to get out of danger areas. Border security forces in coastal provinces from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa have cooperated with local authorities to inform people of the situations and directions of the storm. Tran Quang Hoai, an official from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, called for increased communications on the storm: “Localities in high-risk areas should continue to monitor and inform vessels at sea and prepare search and rescue facilities to deal with any circumstances. Aquaculture areas in Quang Ninh province must stay vigilent. Plans must be prepared to ensure safey for people in the mainland.”

According to the National Hydro-meteorology Center, by 8AM Saturday morning, the storm was 410km Northeast of the Hoang Sa archipelago. It is forecast to move to the northwestern direction in the next 24 hours with a velocity of 20km/hour.
