(VOVworld) - The south central province of Khanh Hoa has finished preparations for events it will host within the framework of APEC Year 2017, according to a meeting Tuesday between Chairman of the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee Le Duc Vinh and a provincial steering committee.

Khanh Hoa has chosen five hotels to host APEC meetings, has turned a convention hall into a press centre, and has recruited and trained 180 volunteers for the event. To promote the province’s image, a new video clip will introduce Khanh Hoa’s economic potential and strengths, cultural beauty, and tourist destinations.
APEC Year 2017 will be one of Vietnam’s most important foreign relations activities this year. Its events will span Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Can Tho, Ha Long, and Nha Trang.
Nha Trang will host the first APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM1) from February 18 to March 3, with 80 meetings to be attended by 2,500 delegates. The APEC Finance Deputies’ Meeting and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting will also be held in Nha Trang.
