(VOVworld) – A national meeting was held in HCM city on Sunday to mark ASEAN Dengue Day June 15 involving 3,000 people. Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that dengue is one of the diseases with the fastest rate of infection in the world. Vietnam has reported 50,000 to 100,000 cases of dengue every year, 85% of which in southern provinces.

After the meeting, a number of specialized vehicles for dengue prevention were dispatched to 8 high risk provinces: Can Tho, Vinh Long, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, and Dac Lac.
