Entitled “Justice for Agent Orange/Dioxin victims”, the event called for material and spiritual assistance to the victims. Professor Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims, said that despite numerous difficulties, the struggle for justice for AO victims against US chemical companies has received great support from people all around the world. Phuong added “US lawyers representing AO victims have visited to Vietnam many times and are well aware of and feel moved by the condition of Vietnamese AO victims. Therefore they have done the utmost to find evidence to proceed against the US chemical companies who produced the toxic dioxin that the US military forces used during the Vietnam war.”
Nearly 4.8 million Vietnamese people were exposed to dioxin. Today, around 3 million still suffer from health problems due to their exposure.
