(VOVWORLD) - Since Thursday morning, people from many localities came to Hanoi to mourn General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

People shared their emotions:
"I’m from An Lao district, Hai Phong city. I left Hai Phong at 3 a.m. Uncle Trong is a leader who worked for the people and the nation. We are thankful to Mr. Trong and the Party.
"I’m a member of the War Veteran Club of Phuc Xuyen hamlet, Phuc Tho district, Hanoi. Since July 19th when he passed away, I could not hold back tears whenever I watched documentaries about him. He dedicated his whole life to the nation and the people. He led a modest and simple life.”
"I’m saddened for the passing of the outstanding leader who was very close to the people. Although he was in the highest position in the country, he was very sociable with all people. We strongly believe in the decisions and orientations that Mr. Trong outlined for the next generation.”

In many localities people came to worship at religious centers to mourn General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong from afar.
Representatives of Cao Dai Tay Ninh Holy See in Tien Giang province organized a commemoration for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Thai Sy Thanh, Head of the Representative Board, said: “Dignitaries and followers mourned General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a wise leader, who directed the country’s development, renewal, and integration. The teachings of the General Secretary will be widely disseminated to Cao Dai followers in Tien Giang province to study and follow the General Secretary's example to live toward the motto of living the gospel of life.”

In the Central Highlands, people gathered at the communal halls to mourn the General Secretary and played sad gong melodies to honor the Party leader.
Mr. Bun, a gong player in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province, shared: “The sad gong melodies show our grief. Mr. Trong is an outstanding leader. We beat the gong to say farewell to him.”
