(VOVWORLD) - Nearly 500 photos and artifacts are on display at an exhibition, which opened on Sunday in Hanoi as part the 11th National Youth Union Congress. The event showcases the history and tradition of the Youth Union and its 10 national congresses.
The first part of the exhibition focuses on heroic generations of Vietnamese youth who contributed to the nation’s glorious victories against foreign invaders from 1931 to 1975. The second part illustrates the Youth Union’s development throughout 10 congresses, from the first in 1950 until now. In the spotlight are youth’s contributions to Vietnam’s renewal over the past 30 years in study, scientific research, socio-economic development, volunteerism for communities, national construction and defense.
Nguyen Viet Hung, Director of Vietnam Youth Museum and Chief Organizer, said: “The exhibition reflects historical movements of the Youth Union and Action Programs during the course of 10 congresses. It recalls the glorious history of the Youth Union. New technologies enable visitors to virtually experience what happened in the past. We hope that all the exhibited documents and items will encourage the young people to continue their vanguard role and creativity to contribute to national development and defense.”
The exhibition will close next Wednesday.
