In an announcement by the government’s Administrative Reform Steering Committee on Wednesday, Quang Ninh has been recognized for its administrative reform initiatives, followed by Hanoi and Dong Nai. Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee, Nguyen Duc Long, listed specific rules for local public servants: “Last year, our province worked towards the theme of upholding administrative rules and disciplines with severe remedies against public servants’ binge drinking during lunch breaks, even in mountainous and ethnic regions. They must comply with working hour rules and face unscheduled supervision by the Fatherland Front.”

Addressing the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh urged ministries and provinces to overcome weaknesses and improve their rankings. He praised the index as a measurement of public satisfaction with public services and performance of administrative agencies.
