Delegates adopted reports of the VGCL, agenda and key personnel of the 12^th congress, election regulations , and the amendments to the Vietnam Trade Union Regulations.

The congress is scheduled to take place in Hanoi from Monday to Wednesday. VGCL President Bui Van Cuong said the confederation of the 2018-2023 tenure will propose nine groups of measures and three innovative strategies including organisational reform, protecting and taking care of trade union members and workers, and building a strong contingent of trade unionists. Mr. Cuong said: "We need to show workers that their rights are protected if they join the trade unions so that we can attract more workers to join the union. We’ll focus on issuing resolutions in cadre work, training and setting criteria for officials at all levels. We’ll also support trade unions financially."
