The visit was part of Mr. Schriver’s trip to Vietnam to attend the Vietnam-US defense policy dialogue in Hanoi.
Mr. Schriver and the delegation visited the hospital’s dioxin detoxification center, tumor center, and heliport, which is under construction. They also learned about the hospital’s cooperation activities with its US partners and witnessed an online telemedicine examination between Military Hospital 175 and Truong Sa Island’s medical station.
The US plans to help the Military Hospital 175 by providing training on aviation, overland, and seaway emergency aid to build capacity of Vietnam’s two field hospitals. It will also assist Vietnam in setting up the third level-2 field hospital.
