(VOVWORLD) - A national cooperation program on sustainable employment has been signed between Vietnam and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Hanoi.
 The signing ceremony takes place in Hanoi on December 5, 2017.

The five-year program until 2021 gives priority to sustainable business opportunities and poverty reduction by expanding social welfare coverage for all. Other priorities include reducing unacceptable forms of employment, especially for vulnerable people, and designing an effective workforce management mechanism that respects basic labor principles and rights.
At Tuesday’s signing ceremony, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said Vietnam will continue its focus on employment, human resources development, and social security as part of its international economic integration in line with its sustainable growth strategy and a balance of interests between employees and employers.
He suggested measures to implement the program: “The ILO and other partners will help Vietnam fine-tune its Labor Code to create better relationship between employers and employees. The Organization will also support Vietnam in reforming social insurance and wage policies, ratification of ILO conventions, and international integration”.
This is their 3rd cooperation program since Vietnam rejoined the ILO in 1992.
